Des Plaines man accused of battering a child

A 26-year-old Des Plaines man faces one count of aggravated battery to a child.

Des Plaines police arrested Lazaro Baruch, of the 2900 block of Curtis Street, nine blocks from his home at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday.

Police declined to comment on the case, referring all inquiries to the Cook County state's attorney's office.

A message to the state's attorney's office was unreturned.
