Bartlett's National Night Out event wins first place award
For the eighth time, the National Association of Town Watch has awarded the village of Bartlett first place for its 2021 National Night Out celebration.
National Night Out is a crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. The annual celebration is designed to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
Thousands of Bartlett residents took part in Bartlett's National Night Out activities this summer, which included a Picnic in the Park on Aug. 3, as well as a variety of lead-in events.
The Bartlett Police Department will be presenting the first-place trophy to Village President Kevin Wallace and the board of trustees at an upcoming meeting.
Village officials also are thanking the Bartlett Park District, Bartlett Fire Protection District, and the many businesses, civic groups, volunteers and residents who contributed to the success of this year's celebration.
Bartlett already has begun preparing for next year's National Night Out, set for Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022.
