Curtain: The July Newspaper Movie of the Month

'Never Let Me Go' (1953)

OK, if you're looking for someone to represent newspaper reporters, you cannot go wrong picking Clark Gable, can you? We think we feel our moustaches itching even as we write this. In this 1953 Cold War suspense story, Gable plays foreign correspondent Philip Sutherland who falls for a Bolshoi Ballet performer played by Gene Tierney but then has trouble getting her out of the country. It's available on DVD, Blu-Ray and many streaming platforms. And it shows up frequently on TCM.
