Thomas becomes fourth Bulls player in health and safety protocols

The positive tests keep on coming for the Bulls. Shooting guard Matt Thomas became the fourth player to enter health and safety protocols in the past week, joining DeMar DeRozan, Coby White and Javonte Green.

Thomas has played sparingly this season, but did join the rotation on Monday and played 19 minutes in the win over Denver. He hit a 3-pointer, to go with 3 rebounds and a steal. Thomas traveled with the Bulls to Cleveland on Tuesday.

The Bulls are expected to use the NBA's hardship rule to add a reinforcement soon, forward Stanley Johnson, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. Johnson was with the Bulls during preseason and has been playing for the Lakers G-League team.

The Bulls are currently on a four-day, two-game road trip which includes Cleveland tonight and Miami on Saturday. White and Green could be ready to return early next week. Alex Caruso is also expected to miss both games on this trip due to a sore hamstring.
