National Louis University offers info session Dec. 16 at ECC

National Louis University will be hosting an in-person information session at Elgin Community College regarding the graduate and doctoral programs offered onsite at ECC. All aspiring students with an interest in graduate degrees in the fields of counseling psychology, elementary education, or higher education leadership are encouraged to attend.

The information session will be at noon and 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, in Room C120 on the ECC campus, 1700 Spartan Drive in Elgin.

The session will provide an in-depth look at National Louis University's degree programs: M.S. in Counseling, Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education, and Ed.D. in Higher Ed Leadership. It also will offer overviews of the college and clinical mental health counseling tracks; scholarship and financial aid options; and information on admission requirements and application deadlines.

For Elgin Community College District 509 residents, within partnership guidelines, a 20% tuition discount is available.

Additionally, for the Ed.D. in Higher Ed leadership, National Louis University will honor the 20% discount for ECC employees and will continue to offer the current established 10% discount for any employee of a community college partner school. NLU will also waive the student fee for all "in-district" students in the onsite cohorts.

Note, students outside of District 509 will be permitted to take on-site NLU classes at ECC but will not be eligible for the 20% partnership discount. The discount does not apply to students taking a program 100% online.

If National Louis University engages in an overall university tuition increase, the new tuition rate will apply to the onsite cohorts as well.
