Woman loses $200 in social media fraud, police say

A thief stole $200 from a woman by offering to sell her gift cards over social media, Des Plaines police said Monday.

The victim said the thief never delivered the promised cards. The theft was reported Sunday.

The victim also discovered the thief hacked her social media account, police said.
