Elgin to hold annual tree lighting Saturday in Festival Park

Elgin will hold its annual tree-lighting ceremony Saturday at Festival Park.

The event will be held on the splash pad at the park, 132 S. Grove Ave., and begins at 5 p.m.

Mayor David Kaptain will offer a welcome and turn on the lights with the help of city council members and Santa Claus.

The Larkin High School Jazz Band will perform and Ballet Folklorico Huehuecoyotl will host a Posada celebration ending with a traditional piñata smash.
