Inaugural Dashing Through Palatine Holiday 5K set for Sunday

The Palatine Police Department will host its inaugural Dashing Through Palatine Holiday 5K on Sunday.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants can get into the holiday spirit by enjoying a run/walk/stroll while wearing a favorite ugly sweater, Santa suit or holiday gear with family, friends and members of the community.

The race will begin and end at the Palatine police station, 595 N. Hicks Road.

In lieu of a registration fee, participants are asked to bring an unwrapped toy, which will be distributed to children in the community by Palatine police officers. Cash donations will also be accepted the day of the event and will be donated to a charity of the police department's choice.
