It will be 'An Almost Winter Day' in South Elgin Saturday

Regardless of the weather, it will be "An Almost Winter Day" Saturday in South Elgin.

The annual family event runs from 2 to 5 p.m. at SEBA Park, 151 Water St.

The activities start with s'mores, cookie decorating, craft projects, balloon animals and a chance to visit Santa, who will stay until 4:45 p.m. for socially-distant photos.

The afternoon also includes asphalt curling, an ice sculptor, bonfire and a giant sling shot, before the action moves across the street to Panton Mill Park for the village tree-lighting at 5 p.m.

The event is free and concessions will be available to purchase.
