Elk Grove extends leaf collection program to Nov. 29

Elk Grove Village is extending its Fall Leaf Collection Program for all village residents to the week following Thanksgiving.

Residents are asked to place leaves on the street by 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29. Leaves placed after the deadline will not be collected.

Only rake leaves into the street. Grass, branches, and other yard waste are not permitted and will damage village equipment. Place leaves in a continuous row on the pavement approximately 2 feet from the curb.

Leaves may not be placed on state or county roadways, or the following village streets: Tonne Road, Elk Grove Boulevard, Rev. Morrison Boulevard, J.F. Kennedy Boulevard, Biesterfield Road, and Wise Road. Residents along these streets are asked to place leaves in the parkway.

Residents that still have leaves after Nov. 29 can bring them to the leaf dumpsters at the James P. Petri Public Works Facility, 450 E. Devon Ave., and Public Works Biesterfield Facility, 1635 Biesterfield Road, until Dec. 12. The dumpsters are for leaves only, yard waste and garbage is not permitted. Leaves should be placed in a yard waste bags, yard waste stickers are not required, and no plastic bags will be accepted.
