Chicago man charged with attempted murder of former girlfriend in Hoffman Estates

A Chicago man was charged with attempted first-degree murder after he attacked his former girlfriend Friday morning in Hoffman Estates, authorities said.

Dallvin T. Martin, 26, was arrested after Hoffman Estates police officers responded to a report of a domestic battery at the Barrington Lakes Apartments about 9:30 a.m. Friday. Police said a 25-year-old woman was taken to Amita Health St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with multiple injuries.

Martin is in custody at the Cook County jail on $500,000 bail. He's scheduled to appear in court today in Rolling Meadows.
