Geneva Unit District 304 families invited to preschool open houses Nov. 17 and Jan. 20

The Geneva Early Learning Program invites area families to its upcoming open houses to learn about the rewarding and enriching preschool offerings from Geneva Unit District 304.

The first open house will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17. The second open house will be from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20.

Geneva Early Learning Program is an inclusive preschool community for district residents offering a full continuum of services for children who are typically developing as well as those who have identified disabilities.

Its curriculum is a research-based, play-based curriculum and is aligned to its core values. The program is currently accepting enrollment for tuition-based preschool students, age 3 or older.

Both open houses will be held at the Geneva Early Learning Program, which is housed in Fabyan Elementary School at 0S350 Grengs Lane, Geneva, IL 60134. For questions, call (630) 444-8700.

"Families who attend this open house can meet our teachers, explore our classrooms, ask questions, and learn how Geneva 304 partners with families to foster a love of learning," said Divisional Coordinator Jen Seaton. "We are dedicated to preparing children - academically, socially, emotionally, and physically - for future learning and life."

The preschool's curriculum is a research-based play-based curriculum and aligned to the district's core values, according to Seaton. Developmentally appropriate activities are aligned with the Creative Curriculum, the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards, and student progress is monitored via standards-based reporting.

All teachers have a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree. Each holds a Professional Educator License with the Illinois State Board of Education with endorsements in either Early Childhood and/or Special Education and/or English as a Second Language. Every classroom has a full-time instructional assistant who is a licensed paraprofessional by the Illinois State Board of Education.

"We are so excited to meet prospective Junior Vikings," Seaton said, "and show families what we have to offer through play-based learning in the Little Blue Nation!"

The Geneva 304 Early Learning Program focuses on teaching young students through developmentally appropriate practices, while developing positive self-concept, enhancing creativity, and enriching each student's life socially, intellectually, and emotionally. Its mission is to present opportunities to grow and develop as emerging learners within a complex society, through a collaborative effort between school, family, and the community.
