Missing Aurora couple found in Lake Zurich, reunited with family
Seniors from Aurora who had been missing since Sunday were found early Wednesday morning by a Lake Zurich police officer and reunited with their family, officials said.
Robert Springstroh, 88, and Oriene Springstroh, 82, were driving the wrong way on Rand Road near Ela Road at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday when Lake Zurich officer Przemyslaw Struga spotted them and pulled them over before they caused a crash, Lake Zurich Deputy Chief David Anderson said.
When the officer radioed in their information, a dispatcher informed Struga that the couple had been reported missing by Aurora police Tuesday night, Anderson said. Authorities had cited health conditions that placed the couple in danger.
Anderson said Struga drove the couple to the Lake Zurich Police Department, where they were reunited with their family.
