Compost your pumpkin Saturday in Libertyville

A pumpkin smashing event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Adler Park pool parking lot, 1500 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville.

The event to divert pumpkins from landfills is sponsored by Sustain Libertyville and the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County. Pumpkins and corn stalks are acceptable. Remove all candles, stickers, and other decorations (acrylic paint is acceptable) from pumpkins prior to smashing. Tag your photos and posts with #pumpkinsmash to share across social media.
