Don't raise taxes, just close loopholes

President Biden says he needs to raise $1.75 trillion for social spending and then another $2 trillion for the America Jobs Plan. To fund these proposals without raising taxes on middle- and low-income individuals, he claims he can pay for these plans by raising taxes on corporations and the wealthy. His reasoning is "they don't pay their fair share."

The reason they don't pay their fair share is the loopholes in our tax code that were placed there by these same politicians. The simple solution without raising any taxes: Change the tax code to eliminate the loopholes. Raise their taxes and they will just use those same loopholes to eliminate them. When the new taxes won't be sufficient to pay off this enormous debt, what will be the solution? New higher taxes on middle- and low-income individuals.
