Aztec dance demonstration Saturday in Elgin

Author and artist Henry Cervantes brings a vibrant demonstration of ancient Aztec Dance to the Elgin Public Museum Saturday at 11 a.m.

A native of Chicago's Little Village, Cervantes is the founder and director of Xochitl-Quetzal Aztec Dance, a group which performs Indigenous dances in traditional regalia. His presentation looks at 500 years of Aztec dance traditions.

The free, one-hour event is made possible by a grant from the Illinois Humanities Road Scholars Speakers Bureau. Masks are required inside the museum as per Illinois state mandate.
