Congress ignores seniors

The do-nothing Congress has managed to do something - ignore the needs of senior citizens. Medicare by statute, is forbidden from covering routine dental, eyeglasses and hearing aids. The social infrastructure bill was to include coverage for these services but recent reports on efforts to make these services available indicate that they have been dropped from the bill. Also, Medicare is not going to be allowed to negotiate drug prices, which means seniors will continue to be gouged by these exorbitant prices for their medications. A win for Big Pharma and the senators who receive campaign funds from them.

Who thinks seniors need to see or hear? Not Congress. Shame on those who decided these basic needs were too expensive but that it is acceptable not to raise corporate taxes or require the super-rich to pay their fair share of taxes.
