Read your Bible before you cite it

To the Bible-scholar gentleman from Elgin who recently posted a long letter decrying "socialism" (and a few other "isms"), you might want to read the Bible a bit more carefully before quoting it.

Matthew 4:19 is Jesus's call to ministry for Andrew and some minor dude named Peter. It was not an instruction to become self-sufficient fishermen (which they were!), but to take the huge risk of abandoning their jobs and incomes, devoting the rest of their lives to service and sacrifice, and eventual martyrdom.
