Two in custody after attempted robbery in Lombard

Lombard police are investigating an attempted robbery and the discharge of a firearm Thursday morning at a business near St. Charles Road and Lincoln Avenue.

Police said two suspects fled the scene before they were taken in custody. No injuries had been reported.

Temporary road closures were in place in the area, and nearby residents were encouraged to stay inside. At 1:30 p.m., the area of St. Charles Road and Lincoln Avenue was reopened.

Lombard officials also added that the police activity Thursday in the Glendale Heights area of North Avenue and Bloomingdale Road was unrelated.
