Bartlett teen charged with reckless driving after crash into fence

Bartlett police charged an 18-year-old resident with misdemeanor reckless driving Sunday night after alleging he struck a curb, drove off the road and crashed into a fence after blowing through a stop sign and attempting to make a left turn while speeding.

Ryan J. Pellegrino of Bartlett also was cited with improper lane use and disregarding a stop sign, police said.

Bartlett officers were dispatched to the area of Vulcan Boulevard and Comiskey Road for a report of possible street racing at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday, police said.

At that time, an officer reportedly observed a 2010 Hyundai Genesis traveling east on Vulcan Boulevard when it lost control while attempting the high-speed left turn onto Comiskey Road and came to rest on a grassy hill.

Pellegrino was released at the scene on a $2,500 individual bond. He is scheduled to appear Nov. 15 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
