A show of compassion

Julie Sass, on Oct. 2, asked "What name should be given to the Texas law that prohibits abortion?"

It could be called, "The Care and Compassion Law." The law cares enough to save the life of a baby and prevent him or her from suffering a painful death. The young girl who was raped and became pregnant needs love, comfort and support through this difficult time of her life.

The fact that the pregnancy occurred as a result of a traumatic experience does not make the girl a bad person. Neither does it make the a baby bad person.

A baby inside a womb is just as much a person as a baby outside of the womb. The one difference is size.
