Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce honors park district with Good Works Award

The Elmhurst Park District was honored to receive the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry's 2021 Good Works Award, which was presented during the chamber's 73rd annual golf outing, held at Sugar Creek Golf Course on Sept. 23.

The Good Works Award is presented each year at the golf outing and honors the memory of the late Chamber President A.J. "Toche" Terrones. He led the chamber for almost 10 years until his death the night before the 1999 golf outing.

The award was presented to recognize the park district "for contributions to the betterment of the Elmhurst community for more than 100 years, for its partnerships with local businesses and nonprofit organizations, for its collaboration with other governmental bodies and nearly a half century of active and involved membership of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and industry including organizational support of the Chamber Golf Outing hosted at Sugar Creek Golf Course for the last 10 years."

Elmhurst Park District thanks the chamber for this recognition and continues to work on ways to partner with community organizations in pursuit of fulfilling its mission of enriching lives while having fun.

The Elmhurst Park District is an Illinois Distinguished Agency dedicated to promoting "lifetime enjoyment" by providing a variety of parks, recreation facilities, and affordable programs in the Elmhurst community.
