Everyone Thankful dinner and trivia night to help provide Thanksgiving dinners for families

Now in its fourth year, Everyone Thankful is an evening of food and fun designed to raise funds to provide Thanksgiving dinners for families in need. The Saturday, Oct. 16, event has as its centerpiece a team trivia contest, hosted by Baig of Tricks Entertainment.

A full barbecue dinner and gift basket raffles round out the evening. Funds raised at this event will directly benefit the local community.

In past years, funds from the event have been able to feed more than 200 families annually.

"Our name is also our goal," says event organizer Carl Maeder. "We believe that the basic food relief system in the U.S.A. does a fair job for most days. However, on certain days, such as Thanksgiving, the menu calls for something more. On Thanksgiving Day we'd like to see every local household who wants to celebrate the great holiday be able to put a decent feast on their own table."

Everyone Thankful is sponsored by the Elmhurst Elks Lodge and Sojourners Pub Church, with assistance provided by other local churches. Trivia teams and individuals may reserve a table in advance at every1thankful@gmail.com.

The suggested donation is $20 per person for the evening, cash and checks accepted.

Everyone Thankful will be held at 5 p.m. at the Elmhurst Elks Lodge, 711 W. St. Charles Road, Elmhurst. At 5 p.m., there will be gift basket raffles and the bar will open. Dinner will follow at 6 p.m. and the team trivia contests start at 7 p.m. Teams of 5-10 people may reserve a table.
