Libertyville Police Department launches Pink Patch Project

The Libertyville Police Department is participating in The Pink Patch Project, an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations.

During October, Libertyville police officers will have the option to wear a pink uniform patch in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The village is partnering with Advocate Condell's Cancer Care Services to bring awareness to the cause and to raise donations. Those who donate will receive a Pink Patch (subject to availability). There are two ways to participate:

• Pink patches can be purchased for a minimum donation of $10 at the Libertyville Police Department, 200 E. Cook Ave., from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Donations can be made online at www.libertyville.com/pinkpatches. Bring your receipt to the Libertyville Police Department to get your Pink Patch

All proceeds will be donated to Advocate Condell's Cancer Care Services, which serves area residents. Advocate Condell Medical Center offers cancer patients a compassionate and multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Their multispecialty team of oncologists, surgeons, nurses and spiritual counselors has expertise in the latest treatments and techniques.

To provide the latest in diagnostic and treatment technologies, as well as to support a holistic approach to care, Advocate Condell Medical Center relies on charitable gifts. For more information or to donate, visit www.libertyville.com/pinkpatches.
