Regardless of blame, deficit is a problem

In his recently printed view, Jim Kenney complains that including President Biden's proposed new programs among the reasons for the country's prospect of default is misleading because it omits mentioning the proposal includes plans for supposedly financing the increased costs. It seems that Mr. Kenney might also be omitting the fact that the country's budget deficits have been huge for years, and even if President Biden's proposed financing really were sufficient to cover the increased costs, it will do nothing to reduce the previous pace of annual deficit.

I guess his umbrage at its inclusion in the list might be valid, but I cannot be too content that it, at best, maintains the status quo of huge annual deficits and increasing federal debt.
