Lake County closing COVID-19 vaccination site on Water Street in Waukegan
The Lake County Health Department will close its COVID-19 vaccination site at 102 W. Water St. in Waukegan, officials announced Friday.
The final day to receive vaccines at the site, which offers both drive-through and walk-up vaccinations, will be Sunday. Appointments can be made through AllVax, Lake County's web service.
Mark Pfister, the executive director of the Lake County Health Department, said so far more than 8,805 people received COVID-19 vaccinations at the Waukegan site.
"I am confident that we have a strong infrastructure in place between our department, pharmacies, healthcare providers and community partners to continue vaccinating individuals across Lake County," Pfister said in a news release.
The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center continue to offer vaccinations at the Grand Avenue Health Center at 3010 Grand Ave. in Waukegan, the Midlakes Health Center on 224 Clarendon Road in Round Lake Beach and the Zion Health Center on 1911 27th St. in Zion.
