Ulta Beauty 100 list lifts Black leaders in beauty industry

BOLINGBROOK - Ulta Beauty Wednesday announced its MUSE 100 list, a celebration of 100 inspiring Black voices in the beauty industry, each of whom will be awarded a $10,000 grant to further their impact.

MUSE stands for Magnify, Uplift, Support and Empower Black voices in the beauty industry. Ulta Beauty is the nation's largest beauty retailer, and it said the grants are in addition to the $25 million commitment made by the company in February of this year to further diversity and equality in the industry.

The list includes beauty brand founders, makeup artists, activists, authors and more. Each honoree's accomplishments were reviewed and selected by the Ulta Beauty Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Counsel with input from a panel of industry leaders.

"The MUSE 100 demonstrates a significant evolution of Ulta Beauty's mission to uplift Black voices," said Tracee Ellis Ross, actress, DE&I adviser at Ulta Beauty, and CEO and founder of Pattern Beauty. "By shining a light on these inspiring changemakers, we empower Black communities and continue the important work of fostering foundational change."

Honorees are listed on the www.ulta.com/company/diversity-inclusion/muse100 website.
