Buffalo Theatre Ensemble announces 35th anniversary season

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble inaugurates its 35th anniversary season this fall with the in-person premiere of "Stove Toucher," an autobiographical show written and performed by ensemble member Kurt Naebig.

A coming-of-age drama set during the 1970s, "Stove Toucher" chronicles Naebig's experiences as a teenage skateboarding phenom who went on to open a skateboard shop while still in his teens. It runs Nov. 26 to Dec. 19.

That's followed by a revival of Naperville playwright Mat Smart's "Naperville" (Jan. 27-Feb. 27), a dramedy about loss, community and perseverance directed by Naebig.

The season concludes with Richard Bean's comedy "One Man, Two Guvnors" (April 28-May 29). Based on "The Servant of Two Masters," an 18th century commedia dell'arte by Carlo Goldoni, the play is about an unemployed musician working for two employers - a gangster and an aristocrat - neither of whom know their employee is serving two masters.

Performances take place at the McAninch Arts Center, College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
