9/11 remembrance event Saturday at Stevenson High School

A remembrance ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Adlai E. Stevenson High School, 1 Stevenson Drive in Lincolnshire.

The guest speaker is Scott Schrimpe, a retired New York firefighter and North Tower survivor.

A Stevenson High School Patriot Day/Family Fest follows from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local police and fire departments, first responders, and U.S. military will participate. A climbing wall, games, a military vehicle and more are part of the event.
