Do the right thing to help protect kids

I'm just gonna put this out there hoping more folks have the same thought than not. I am appalled at the number of kids, not old enough to be vaccinated, being hospitalized with COVID. It breaks my heart to see them on ventilators or in induced comas in the hope they recover. The stress and frustration on healthcare workers is bad enough but, undoubtedly, magnified tenfold for children.

Now I turn to the parents and their "communities" to slap them into next week. Children depend on adults to act in their best interests and set good examples. I don't want to hear the boo-hoo's from the parents who sit at their child's bedside. They failed their children.

I'm elderly, have been vaccinated, wear a mask when out and about, social distance when I can and, even after a brief respite from having to, will continue to practice these recommendations because I respect members of my community.

The nation is well into the second year of this pandemic. Read that sentence again. Had enough? Do the right thing, especially if you have kids. You would miss them and they would miss you.
