Lombard to host 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and We Remember Blood Drive

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11, the Village of Lombard invites residents to join a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and Dedication on Saturday, Sept. 11. The ceremony will begin promptly at 9 a.m. at the Public Safety Plaza at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson St.

The village also is joining organizations across the country to encourage blood donations to honor those who lost their lives.

The village is co-hosting two blood "We Remember Blood Drive" events on Wednesday, Sept. 8: from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the mobile coach parked on the lower level of Yorktown Center near the VonMaur entrance; and 1:30 to 7 p.m. in the Hatfield Hall at First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St. Sign up at donate.illinois.versiti.org or call/text (847) 305-9998 to sign up. Photo ID and masks are required for all donors.
