Dangerous experiment

Information from a school district:

• The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) no longer allows districts to offer remote learning except to students who are COVID quarantined.

• As I write, Lake County's infection rate is 16.04. Any rate over 14 indicates high community transmission.

I know that we need to learn how to adapt to live with the ever changing COVID almost on a daily basis. This delta surge is more contagious and deadlier than the original one. The majority of people who are catching it are unvaccinated. Any child under 12 is unvaccinated.

This ISBE mandate was made in May 2021 when the transmission rates were low. Whoever is in charge of ISBE, I have one question for them: Are we sending our children to school to learn or become collateral damage or a science experiment?

Sounds pretty harsh because COVID is.
