St. Mary's Road to close

St. Mary's Road between Route 176 in Green Oaks and Route 60 in Vernon Hills will close for three weeks beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7. The pavement approach to the Canadian National Railway (EJ & E) crossing will be improved in conjunction with the resurfacing of St. Mary's Road. Bike-friendly shoulders and drainage improvements also are part of the Lake County Division of Transportation project. The detour is Route 176 to Route 21 (Milwaukee Avenue) to Route 60 (Townline Road). The rail crossing will be closed but local traffic will have access from the south and north. The work is expected to be complete Sept. 27.
