Gail Borden offers a variety of writing programs
Whether you write poetry, fiction or even your memoir, Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin has a writing program just for you.
Local poets will have an opportunity to share what they are writing at a Poetry Writers Workshop at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7 and Oct. 4. The program will take place at the main library, 270 N. Grove Ave., and on Zoom. Dr. David Langum will discuss how to write, conduct research and how to get published at "How to Write, How to Research, How to Get Published!" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the main library.
Elgin's Poet Laureate Chasity Gunn will lead a six-week program, "Sanctuary Poets: Poetry Writing Seminar," at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 16, at the main library.
Make new friends and share your memories at "Memoir Writing for Seniors," where the class will start with oral history and move to writing short memoir pieces. The class on Zoom will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 14 and Oct. 12.
