Lake County energy assistance program to begin Sept. 1

Lake County residents can apply for grant assistance for natural gas, propane, electricity and furnace assistance through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

The program begins Sept. 1. Income guidelines have been raised to serve families in higher income brackets. Applicable services include imminent and actual disconnections.

Applications are being taken by Community Action Partnership of Lake County by phone, online and via drop box. Proof of gross income, Social Security numbers, a copy of current bills, are required. Call (847) 249-4330 to schedule an appointment.
