Firefighter injured battling motel blaze in Wheeling

Wheeling Fire Department officials said one firefighter suffered minor injuries battling a blaze at motel on Milwaukee Avenue late Sunday.

Firefighters called to the Olde Court Inn Motel on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. arrived to find smoke showing from the single-story, multiunit structure, officials said

None of the occupants of the motel were injured, but one firefighters suffered a "minor, nonlife-threatening injury," fire officials said.

The building was rendered uninhabitable and the American Red Cross assisted in finding accommodations for those displaced, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
