Buffalo Grove board approves 3% raise, $10,000 bonus for village manager

The Buffalo Grove village board voted this week to give Village Manager Dane Bragg a 3% raise and a $10,000 bonus.

The ordinance providing for the additional compensation states that Bragg merits it in "support of his admirable performance for the year 2020."

The pay hike brings Bragg's salary to $283,589.

There was no discussion by trustees before the vote Monday.

However, Village President Beverly Sussman cited highlights from Bragg's performance review, listing among his achievements the village's financial response to the pandemic.

Other highlights included the opening, expansion or relocation of 62 businesses in the village last year and 37 so far in 2021.

The list also recognized the ongoing 5-year, $175 million infrastructure modernization program.

Bragg said his goals for the next year include "round three" of the modernization program, the redevelopment of the Town Center shopping center, continued progress on the Lake-Cook Corridor Plan and improving community engagement.
