St. Hugh of Lincoln to hold prayer service to honor military and first responders Aug. 25
On Wednesday, Aug. 25, the Rev. Marion Phipps will lead a Military & First Responders' Prayer & Communion Service at St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church, 36W957 Highland Ave. in Elgin.
The service will begin at 7 p.m. outdoors in the shaded area of the parking lot or in the sanctuary in inclement weather.
If held outside, please bring a chair or blanket. Masks will be required for both indoor and outdoor locations.
This special service honors those who have served the nation in the past and offers support to the friends and family of military personnel currently serving at home and abroad.
In addition, prayers will be offered for the safety of first responders serving our communities as police officers, sheriffs, firefighters, and paramedics.

On Sunday, the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship are hybrid services, featuring in-person worshipers and on Zoom for those wishing to remain remote.
