Naperville man charged in residential burglary

A Naperville man has been charged in the burglary of a neighbor's house Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers responded about 4:36 p.m. to the 2900 block of Stonewater Drive for a report of a burglary in progress and, upon entering the residence, discovered the suspect was no longer inside, according to a Naperville news release.

Surveillance footage helped police quickly identify the man as 29-year-old Johnny Lee Robinson III, who lives on the same block, officials said.

He was taken into custody at his home, where police said they recovered suspected proceeds and evidence from the burglary. A preliminary investigation determined he may have entered his neighbor's residence through an unlocked first-floor window.

Robinson is charged with a felony count of residential burglary and was taken to the Will County jail, officials said.

Anyone with additional information regarding the investigation is asked to contact Naperville police at (630) 420-6665 and ask for the investigations division.
