Man shot in Prospect Heights late Monday

A 19-year-old man was injured in a Prospect Heights shooting late Monday night.
Prospect Heights police responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex on the 600 block of Piper Lane just after 11:15 p.m., according to a news release.
Officers found the man in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived.
He was transported to a hospital and went into surgery, police said. His current condition is unknown.
Police are still investigating the shooting. No additional details were released.
