Parking lot and street closures planned for Taste of Glen Ellyn & Carnival

In order to accommodate for the Taste of Glen Ellyn & Carnival event Aug. 11-15, it is necessary to close the Crescent and Glenwood lot as well as several parking areas designated as "employee parking only" and "customer parking only." The following parking facility, "employee parking only" zones and "customer parking only" zones, will temporarily be closed and unavailable:

• Crescent and Glenwood lot from Sunday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. through Monday, Aug. 16 at 8 a.m.

• Crescent Boulevard - Employee parking only and customer parking only between Glenwood Avenue and Prospect Avenue from Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 6 a.m. through Monday, Aug. 16, at 8 a.m.;

• McChesney lot from Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 6 a.m. through Monday, Aug. 16, at 8 a.m.

The village realizes that these parking locations are important to patrons, and that closing them may cause some inconvenience.

For permit parking customers/employee parking customers, you may park your car in any public parking lot marked for permit parking during this period. In all cases, your current parking permit must be displayed. You should make every attempt not to park on the street or in areas marked for customer parking only. If you should receive a parking ticket while following these instructions, please bring it to the police department. If they find that your permit was displayed and your car was not parked contrary to the stipulations above, you may be entitled to some relief.

Additional 3-hour meter parking is available in the Main and Crescent parking lot. Do not park in the areas marked permit parking or employee parking only. Parking is allowed in the permit areas after 11 a.m. and in the employee parking only areas after 6 p.m. Free four hour parking is available on Forest, north of Anthony, and Anthony between Western and Park.
