Downtown Naperville Alliance director to retire

Katie Wood, executive director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance, is retiring after 14 years of leading the marketing and advocacy efforts for the city's central business district.

During her tenure, Wood helped to foster the growth of downtown Naperville; led web, print, digital, TV and radio marketing initiatives; and initiated events such as wine walks, sidewalk sales, summer painted sculptures, spring and fall style weekends, chocolate and cookie walks, and various holiday and other special events, according to an announcement from the DNA board of directors.

"It has been the greatest professional honor of my life to serve our amazing downtown Naperville business community," Wood said. "I consider our businesses family and cherish the friendships I've made along the way and all that we've accomplished together."

Wood plans to stay involved until a new executive director is appointed.
