Village of Long Grove Organizes Job Fair to Assist Businesses Looking to Hire
Businesses across the country continue to be challenged with finding workers amid a recovering economy and steady or rising unemployment claims.
For some restaurants and service-related businesses in Long Grove, the challenge is no different as they seek to fill dozens of openings to operate at full capacity, or even to remain open. In response, the Village of Long Grove has organized a Hospitality and Food/Beverage Job Fair to take place Monday, August 9 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Joanie's Pizza, located in the heart of the downtown area at 235 Robert Parker Coffin Road.
Employment opportunities to be featured at the job fair will include servers, prep and line cooks, baristas, customer service personnel and more. Premium pay is being offered by each of the participating businesses to attract new employees.
"The Village is steadfast in doing whatever we can to support our local businesses at a time when they simply want to hire so that they can continue to serve the public," said Village Manager Greg Jackson. "We invite area residents who are seeking employment to come to the job fair this coming Monday and see what our businesses have to offer."
Interested individuals are requested to bring copies of their resume to the job fair, as interviews will be conducted on-site, and job offers could be made immediately.
Participating businesses will include Joanie's Pizza, The Village Tavern on Old McHenry Road just west of Robert Parker Coffin Road (also in the downtown), along with Sunset Foods and Starbucks - both of which are in the Sunset Grove Shopping Center off Route 83 and Aptakisic Road.
