CVS announces pay increase, job openings

CVS Health said it plans to fill 200 open positions in Chicago and the suburbs, including at its Mount Prospect call center, as well as announced a companywide minimum hourly wage of $15 by July 2022.

In Chicago, CVS is hiring store managers, pharmacists, pharmacist technicians, cashiers and beauty sales consultants, distribution center workers, and customer service representatives, the company said. To apply for any of these openings, visit www.cvshealth.com/jobs.

CVS said it will make incremental increases to the company's hourly rates starting this month. Approximately 65% of employees earning hourly wages already make more than $15 an hour, the company said.

"With millions of visits per day to our nearly 10,000 locations across the country, our retail business plays an important role in how we deliver care," said Laurie Havanec, chief people officer at Rhode Island-based CVS. "Our track record on wages aligns with the evolving needs and expectations of CVS Health colleagues in customer-facing roles."
