Golf outing benefits St. Vincent de Paul programs

Members of St. Vincent De Paul start every day with recognizing the needs of others. St. Vincent De Paul is a society of men and women committed to recognizing, understanding and serving neighbors in need.

The St. Mary Buffalo Grove Conference serves more than 1,000 friends and families of those in need of food, clothing, housing assistance, family assistance and emergency funding.

Many of the 40 members of the society live in Buffalo Grove and Long Grove, and engage with all neighbors in need through home visits and relationship support.

St. Vincent De Paul members gather and distribute food through its pantry; receive contributions of cash and service; and, most importantly, serve those who seek friendship, support and a helping hand.

St. Vincent De Paul's annual golf event will take place Monday, Aug. 9, at the Grove Country Club in Long Grove. More than 100 golfers will tee it up at noon in a scramble format. This year, like last year, dinner will not be part of the event.

This year, foursomes will compete for drawing prizes in four flights "Top Flight" "Competitive Flight" "Player Flight" and "Fundraiser Flight."
