Brittain's Car Wash makes donation to Food for Greater Elgin

Brittain's Car Wash, on Larkin Avenue on the west side of Elgin, is beginning a renovation project that will have the car wash closed Aug. 2-6.

Brittain's is putting $80,000 into the car wash improvements that will see new lights, conveyor system, walls, cleaning systems and carpet mat cleaner added to the car wash to enhance everyone's car washing experience. "We cannot wait for our customers to visit with all of these great new upgrades," stated owner Mike Warren.

In the meantime, since the car wash will be closed for five days, Warren, with his wife and co-owner Laurel, decided they needed to do something nice for their loyal customers that are part of the businesses' unlimited wash club.

"We are going to donate $2,000 to Food for Greater Elgin in the name of the Brittain's Clean Car Club members during the week we are closed," Warren said. "We are always wanting to give back to the community every chance we get, and today, we decided Food for Greater Elgin should benefit."

Brittain's Car wash has given over $30,000 to charities in the local community since the Warren's bought the wash in 2018. Mike and Laurel look forward to the upgrades in their car wash, and seeing the donation go to good use with Food for Greater Elgin.
