Dominican University business dean earns honor

RIVER FOREST - Roberto Curci, dean of Dominican University's Brennan School of Business, has been named one of 50 Business Leaders of Color by Chicago United.

Curci has served as the dean of Dominican's business school since 2015 and vice provost for strategic initiatives and external relations since 2019. Curci holds a doctorate in international business and finance from the University of Texas Pan American, an MBA from the University of Miami, and a bachelor's degree in systems engineering from ICESI University in CalĂ­, Colombia.

Curci also owns and serves as president of Rome International Properties Inc., a real estate investment company operating in Illinois and Florida, and Global Market Ventures Inc., a business consulting firm working primarily with minority-owned businesses.

Prior to his tenure with Dominican, Curci was the associate dean of Butler University's Andre B. Lacy School of Business. He has lived and worked in Latin America, Europe and Asia in addition to the U.S. and is regularly invited to teach seminars and provide consulting services in these areas of the world.

Curci serves on the board of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy.

Chicago United is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating an inclusive business environment and a corps of racially diverse CEOs, executive level managers, and corporate board members. The organization will celebrate the 2021 Business Leaders of Color at its annual Bridge Awards Dinner on Nov. 18.
