New court date set for Des Plaines alderman charged with DUI

A new court date has been set for Des Plaines Alderman Mark Lysakowski's drunken-driving case.

Lysakowski is scheduled to appear in the Rolling Meadows branch of Cook County circuit court at 9 a.m. Aug. 18, his attorney's office confirmed. The latest hearing in the matter was held last week.

Lysakowski, who represents the 1st Ward, was arrested Jan. 18 after a traffic stop in Mount Prospect. After being stopped, Lysakowski showed a police officer an envelope that revealed his name and political title, according to the officer's report.

Lysakowski refused to submit to field sobriety testing or give a breath sample for analysis, the report said.

He's charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Lysakowski was reelected to a 4-year term in April.
