Fire displaces Naperville residents
A house fire displaced a Naperville family Thursday night.
A resident of the home on the 3000 block of Kingbird Court called 911 about 8:54 p.m. after hearing a smoke alarm and smelling smoke, according to a news release from the Naperville Fire Department.
The blaze started in the attached garage and spread to the second floor, the news release said. The house was deemed uninhabitable due to smoke damage.
No injuries were reported. The residents had evacuated by the time firefighters arrived, but a family cat was missing.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not believed to be suspicious, officials said.
