Hampshire church to host New Legacy Project concert July 16

On Friday, July 16, enjoy a concert with New Legacy Project performing country gospel, traditional and edgy new southern gospel at 7 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 11821 E. Grant Hwy. in Hampshire.

This is a free nondenominational concert. A love offering will be received.

Rick Price, owner and founder of New Legacy Project, began his 40-year career in Southern Gospel music with the legendary Blackwood Brothers Quartet. Originally a protegee of the late Cecil Blackwood, Rick was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame with the Grammy and Dove-award winning group in the 1990s.

After Cecil's death, with the support of his widow, Price and Chris Blackwood formed the Blackwood Legacy. It was Price's desire to carry on the grand heritage of his beloved mentor. The group has been continuously touring throughout the United States since their formation in 2001.

In 2017, Price made the decision to rename Blackwood Legacy to New Legacy Project, believing that God is speaking into the ministry in a new way. To learn more about New Legacy Project, visit newlegacyproject.com or www.facebook.com/NewLegacyProject/.

The church is at Huntley Road and Route 20, just west of the I-90 Hampshire/Marengo exit. For information, call the church office at (815) 923-4263 or visit www.stjohnsuccharmony.org.
